Zelensky renamed army battalion in honour of Ukrainian ally of Hitler

by Ahmed Adel, Cairo-based geopolitics and political economy researcher Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on September 29 to name the country’s 131st Land Forces Reconnaissance Battalion in honour of Yevhen Konovalets, a veteran of the Ukrainian-Soviet War, political leader of the Ukrainian nationalist movement, and an ally of Nazi Germany. His decision comes as Canada unapologetically denies or apologises for its support of Nazism and Khalistani extremist elements.
