Turkey’s alliance with Azerbaijan and Pakistan expands influence in Caucasus-Central Asia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a trilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Astana on July 3. In this meeting, Erdogan’s intentions of shaping the Caucasus and Central Asia in a Turkish-led order became even more apparent. This was the first meeting between leaders of the three countries in a trilateral format and had “historic significance,” according to Azertaj, with promises that such meetings would be held regularly. Previous trilateral meetings were only held at the level of foreign ministers, parliamentary speakers, and defence […] #Asia #Government #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2024/07/turkeys-alliance-with-azerbaijan-and-pakistan-expands-influence-in-caucasus-central-asia/?feed_id=13005

Will Turkey fully support Neo-Nazi junta in exchange for return to F-35 program?

Although April 1 is a day of practical jokes, what it brought to Turkey is anything but. The recent defeat of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in local elections, when the opposition effectively won, particularly the Republican People’s Party (CHP) that got the most support (37.7% of the overall vote, compared to AKP’s 35.5%), may soon bring about tectonic changes in Turkish domestic affairs. However, perhaps not all is lost for Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the country’s incumbent. Namely, the AKP has been losing influence in big cities for quite some time, which is why it refocused most of […] #Asia #Europe #Featured #Government #IsraelWaronPalestine #Military #UkraineWar #WarZone Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2024/04/will-turkey-fully-support-neo-nazi-junta-in-exchange-for-return-to-f-35-program/?feed_id=10671

Turkey expected to become US’ largest supplier of artillery shells

Turkey is set to become the United States’ largest supplier of artillery shells as NATO allies have exhausted their stocks and now struggle to ship ammunition to Ukraine. Turkey’s indirect support for Ukraine is also supplemented by direct support, such as producing drones and warships, yet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offers himself as a viable partner in searching for peace between Ukraine and Russia. “Turkish supplies of trinitrotoluene, known as TNT, and nitroguanidine, which is used as a propellant, would be crucial in the production of Nato-standard 155mm calibre ammunition — potentially tripling production, according to officials familiar with […] #UkraineWar #WarZone #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2024/03/turkey-expected-to-become-us-largest-supplier-of-artillery-shells/?feed_id=10531

Azerbaijan snubs traditional weapon supplier Russia for Turkey

Six months after reclaiming the once Armenian-majority region of Nagorno-Karabakh in a lightening military campaign, Azerbaijan plans to upgrade its fighter aircraft fleet over the next decade. All reports indicate that Pakistan and Turkey will be the providers and not Russia, the traditional weapons supplier of Azerbaijan. This is an indication that despite the currently friendly Moscow-Baku ties, Azerbaijan is tilting further towards the Turkey and Pakistan nexus. Reports in Azerbaijani and Pakistani media in late February claimed that their respective countries agreed to sell an undisclosed number of Pakistani JF-17C Thunder fighter jets for $1.6 billion. At the same […] #Government #WarZone #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2024/03/azerbaijan-snubs-traditional-weapon-supplier-russia-for-turkey/?feed_id=9987

Is Armenia really arming the Kiev regime?

Approximately two months after the unfortunate fall of Artsakh (better known as Nagorno-Karabakh), a historically Armenian land occupied by Azerbaijan, resulting in the ethnic cleansing of over 100,000 indigenous Armenians, the current government continues with its disastrous foreign policy. Run by the infamous Sorosite Nikol Pashinyan, the end of Armenia’s troubles is nowhere in sight. Worse yet, one of the world’s oldest countries and civilizations, spanning millennia and starting with the ancient Kingdom of Urartu nearly 3000 years ago, Armenia is staring into the abyss as its NATO-backed “leader” keeps making one bad decision after another. The victims of this unwise (at best, although the more […] #Featured #UkraineWar #WarZone #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2023/11/is-armenia-really-arming-the-kiev-regime/?feed_id=6884

Turkish-Israeli Relations Heavily Damaged

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on October 25 he is canceling plans to visit Israel over its “inhumane” war in Palestine. He also called for an immediate ceasefire, and added that “Hamas is not a terrorist organization, it is a liberation group.” Since last year, Israeli-Turkish bilateral ties, which include intelligence and security cooperation, had been improving, after a number of frictions that go way back. It has in fact been a shaky back-and-forth relationship for years. The two countries had restored their ties in 2016, but Israeli envoys were once again dismissed from Turkey in the aftermath of […] #Featured #Government #IsraelWarForPalestine2023 Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2023/10/turkish-israeli-relations-heavily-damaged/?feed_id=5692

Whose side is Turkey on in Latest War in The Middle East?

After the latest Israel-Gaza escalation, the world has effectively split into three groups. Apart from those that expressed open support for either side, the largest part of the globe has opted for neutrality. Obviously, an immediate ceasefire would be the best solution, as thousands on both sides have already been killed, many of them women, children, the elderly, as well as hundreds of soldiers, the vast majority of whom are young people. Anyone sensible would want such tragedy to stop. However, the interests of various powerful foreign entities are fueling and escalating the conflict. The involvement of regional powers is also […] #Featured #IsraelWarForPalestine2023 #WarZone #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2023/10/whose-side-is-turkey-on-in-latest-middle-east-conflict/?feed_id=4642

Pashinyan doubles down on his suicidal tilt toward increasingly impotent West

As the disastrous exodus of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh (known as Artsakh to indigenous Armenians) is in its last phases, the Sorosite Nikol Pashinyan seems more determined than ever to ensure the same fate for Armenia proper. His tilt toward France is a futile attempt to get at least one Western power interested enough to get involved on the side of Armenia, or at least that’s what it seems like on the outside. However, the harsh reality is that Pashinyan has managed to make Yerevan more isolated than ever before, a fact that’s being used to the maximum by its […] #Featured #World Read Full Article: https://www.vtforeignpolicy.com/2023/10/pashinyan-doubles-down-on-his-suicidal-tilt-toward-increasingly-impotent-west/?feed_id=4292

Double Trouble: Dr. Mehmet Oz and Turkey

Which country does Oz owe his allegiance to? That’s what journalists and others have justifiably been asking.

Double Trouble - Dr. Mehmet Oz and Turkey

John Fetterman, Oz’s Democratic opponent, has failed to slam Oz on the above points, particularly his rival’s apparent indifference to Ankara’s support of terrorism.

Why West Dragging Turkey into War with Russia?

The West is facing great threats outside its own region for the first time after centuries. It no longer has the chance to build a global order all on its own. This will lead to great breaking points, axis changes, and form critical areas of regional conflict.
