It’s extremely hard to ascertain truth about battles during an armed conflict. I’ve chosen a few reports published December 4-6, 2023 about the status of the battle in northern Gaza. Two contradictory narratives emerge: 1) Israel has defeated Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades; 2) Israel has withdrawn in the face of fierce fighting.
